The Investigative Skills Workshop is a three-day program designed to refresh key principles from Certificate IV in Government Investigations (PSP40416). It helps professionals sharpen their skills and confidently apply them in the field.
ICETS delivers the Investigative Skills Workshop as a structured three-day program, available face-to-face or in a virtual classroom. It’s designed to refresh and refine the skills of investigators who have already completed the Certificate IV in Government Investigations (PSP40416).
The workshop combines expert-led sessions, supporting resources, and scenario-based practical activities focused on powers, offences, and key investigative principles.
Unlike generic training programs, ICETS workshops are delivered by facilitators with years of experience in government investigations. Agencies also have the option to contextualise the program to meet specific organisational needs.
This workshop goes beyond a simple refresher—it helps investigators sharpen their decision-making, build confidence, and apply their knowledge more precisely in the field.

You’ll revisit core investigative principles, including the lawful use of powers, offence-based decision-making, and structured investigation processes.
Through practical, scenario-based activities, you’ll refine your skills and strengthen your ability to apply them in real-world regulatory environments.

Having supervised the teams that undertake government investigations, I wanted to upskill myself in the investigations techniques themselves. I was recommended ICETS by the Ombos, and I can certainly see why! Definitely worth every cent and second I spent on this course. Nadine was amazing, the skills I learned especially in Mods 8 & 9 will go beyond just investigations. I did this via distance education, and I can't highly recommend them enough. Thank you Nadine, Sharon, and Dave, this course is absolutely top tier! I wished you were based in Sydney, as I could have undertaken this course in person!

I have completed several CertIV trainings previously and ICETS was by far the best structured and facilitated course I have seen so far. I completed the Cert IV Government Investigations in the Virtual Classroom format. I was impressed by the efficiency of their aXcelerate and COMtrac software systems and the wealth of real life on the job experience that our facilitator had. For someone who is organised and time poor, this was the perfect course for completing all of the required theoretical and practical assessments within the allocated class times (plus a few extra hours I did on a Sunday). Dave was also very good at keeping things entertaining. I highly recommend this course.
